Black seal fur vintage coat, 1930s-40s (?)



How and when did you acquire this object? About 10 years ago, at a thrift shop.
Approximately when did it expire? Why? When I bought the coat, I did not realize that the fur was brittle and fragile due to improper storage, and age. After wearing it a few times, it began to fall apart – and I realized it was ‘expired.’ I also only realized it was sealskin after it tore and I could see the markings on the inside.
Where has it been located since the time of its expiration? In my wardrobe – I couldn’t bring myself to discard it and consign the seals to the trash.
